There is a Peace Park in Nagasaki. A statue is there. It was made by Seibo Kitamura. It was made in 1955 - ten years after the bombing.

The right hand points up as a reminder of the danger of big bombs.

The left hand stands for peace and quiet.

The folded leg stands for peaceful thinking - the other for working toward helping people.

In the park there is what's left of a prison. You can still see the twisted metal. It stands as a reminder of the power of big bombs.
